FAQ
Yes, but the bread may be slightly less chewy and soft. Bread flour is recommended for the best texture.
Light crust is great for a soft loaf, but medium or dark crust can add more flavor and crunch, depending on your preference.
It’s best to remove the bread immediately to avoid a soggy crust from trapped steam. Let it cool on a wire rack.
How To Store White Bread
- Room Temperature: Wrap the bread in plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or place it in an airtight bread bag or container. It will stay fresh for up to 3 days. Avoid storing it in the fridge, as it can dry out the bread.
- Freezing: Slice the bread before freezing for easy use. Wrap individual slices or the whole loaf tightly in plastic wrap and then place in a freezer-safe bag or container. It will keep well for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or toast slices directly from frozen.
- Reheating: To refresh the bread, warm it in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes or toast individual slices.
