How to Make Cheesy Mushroom Beef Sliders

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, hamburger seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (Image 1). Break the beef apart as it cooks until it's no longer pink. Set it aside.

Step 2: Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally (Image 2). Place the bottom halves in a casserole dish in a single layer.

Step 3: Place 6 slices of Swiss cheese on the bottom buns (Image 3).

Step 4: Spread the cooked beef evenly over the cheese (Image 4).

Step 5: Scatter the sliced mushrooms on top of the beef layer (Image 5).

Step 6: Add the remaining 6 slices of Swiss cheese over the mushrooms (Image 6).

Step 7: Place the top halves of the rolls over everything (Image 7).

Step 8: Melt the butter and mix in the remaining ½ teaspoon of garlic powder (Image 8). Brush this over the tops of the rolls (Image 7) to add flavor and help them brown.

Step 9: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 3 more minutes until the tops are golden.
Let it cool for a minute, then slice into 12 sliders (Image 9). Serve warm.
Hint: slice the rolls as one slab instead of individually. It is faster and keeps the sliders neat. Also, avoid overcooking the beef so the sliders stay juicy after baking.
Baking Schedule
- Preheat to 350°F (175°C)
- Bake covered for 15 minutes
- Uncover and bake 3 more minutes until tops are golden
💭Crucial Success Tips
Do not overcook the beef in the skillet. It should be just cooked through, because it will bake again in the oven. Overcooked beef at the start leads to dry sliders at the end. Also, keep the sliders covered for most of the bake time so the cheese melts evenly before the tops brown.
Recipe FAQs
Yes. You can assemble the sliders, cover tightly, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Bake when ready, adding a few extra minutes to the covered bake time if they go in cold.
Absolutely. Provolone, mozzarella, or mild cheddar all work well, but Swiss pairs especially nicely with mushrooms.
This usually happens if the beef was greasy or the sliders sat too long after baking. Draining the beef and serving shortly after baking helps prevent this.
How To Store Cheesy Mushroom Beef Sliders
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. For longer storage, assemble and freeze; then bake or reheat when ready to serve.
